Police Blotter: Shoplifting, Vehicle Damage

Car window smashed overnight

A vehicle owner reported to on Oct. 24 that between 4 and 8:25 a.m. someone smashed the passenger-door window of her vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 3900 block of Medina Road. The suspect “rummaged about the interior,” police said, but the victim has not yet determined what was taken.

Store security nabs shoplifters

A security officer at a store in the 100 block of North Cleveland-Massillon Road called Bath Police Oct. 20 to report witnessing two females who concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Both suspects were stopped and detained until police arrived. According to police, both suspects also had "syringes and a spool with residue on it, which is consistent with an intravenous drug user." The women admitted to the theft and the possession of drug paraphernalia. They were arrested, processed at the Bath Police Department and released with summons to appear in court.
