Laptop Computer, Wallet Stolen in Separate Incidents

$990 theft from a vehicle

A resident of the 2400 block of Woodpark Road called Dec. 3 to report the theft of $990 worth of computer equipment from his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway.

The man, 31, said the theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Dec. 2 and 11 a.m. Dec. 3, when he went out to his 2004 Honda Civic and noticed the passenger-side door was unlocked.

Taken from the back seat were a Dell laptop computer valued at $800, two hard drives with a combined value of $140 and the bookbag they were contained in, valued at $50.

Wallet taken from hair salon

A 43-year-old hair stylist called police Dec. 5 to report the theft of her wallet from the salon she works at.

The Copley resident said she had taken her wallet to the food court recalled bringing it back to the salon just after 6 p.m. the prior day. She either placed the wallet into her purse or left it on the countertop near her purse in the area of her work station.

When the stylist left work at 7:15 p.m. she realized her wallet was missing. She retraced her steps, but was not able to find it and could not think of any suspects.

The pink and brown Coach wallet was valued at $200 and contained $35 in cash, in addition to two Visa cards and the woman’s Ohio birth certificate.

The woman notified mall security of the theft, stopped all her credit cards and obtained a new driver’s license.
