No Theft Too Small; Duct Tape Doesn't Help: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

Employees as Shell True North on Medina Road asked police to track down a shoplifter about 2 a.m. Sept. 19 after a woman took something from the store and left.

Officers found the car on I-77 and pulled it over. The woman admitted to stealing a Rice Crispies Treat from the gas station.

The business said it wouldn't pursue charges if she paid for the snack. She did and was released, a report said.

Not Fooled

Security officers at TJ Maxx reportedly saw a woman concealing clothing in her purse, which, it turned out, had been lined with duct tape to thwart anti-theft devices, Sept. 22.

When she was stopped outside the store, she ran off, but was apprehended a short time later by Bath police.

A second suspect was stopped as she tried to leave the parking lot in a car. She was arrested for driving under suspension.

Merchandise from other stores was found in the vehicle, the report said.
