Man Shoplifts In One Store, Arrested Inside Another
The following information was supplied by the Fairlawn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A 55-year-old Akron man suspected of shoplifting $250 worth of items from one store fled from security there and ran into another nearby store, where he was found and arrested by a officer.
Police were called at 10:53 a.m. Dec. 17 by a employee who said a store loss prevention agent was watching a man selecting and concealing miscellaneous merchandise items inside a white plastic bag he was carrying.
The man fled Marc’s while the loss prevention agent was attempting to stop him. A Fairlawn officer spotted the man entering , which is located in the rear of the same plaza that Marc’s is in.

The man was found at the back of the store and escorted outside to a waiting police car for processing. The man told police “he attempted to steal some of the items for personal use and would sell the rest for cash.”
The man was released with a summons to appear in court on a misdemeanor theft charge. He has been “banned from all Marc’s stores for life.”
