Man Nabbed for Stealing from Charity: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

Two seemingly unrelated calls added up to an arrest in Bath Sept. 26.

Police were called about 5:45 a.m. to Brookdale Senior Living on Cleveland-Massillon Road about a suspicious vehicle.

The car was unoccupied, but a registration check showed the owner was wanted by Stow and Macedonia police for failing to appear on theft charges.

About the same time, officers learned a customer at Speedway had walked out with a Children's Miracle Network collection container from the counter about 4:30 a.m.

The container held less than $5, a report said.

Police watched the car until the owner returned. He was identified as the alleged thief at Speedway and arrested on the outstanding warrants.

He was turned over to Macedonia police.

Road Rage

A woman reported Sept. 23 that she was the victim of road rage in Bath.

She told police that a car turned in front of her on Cleveland-Massillon Road, so she blew her horn.

The other driver didn't take it well, stopping in the road and yelling at her out his window.

He then drove slowly in front of her, tapping his brakes, the report said.

When the woman passed him and pulled into a gas station, he followed, got out of his car and yelled some more, then slammed her car door shut.

He then drove off.
