Man Leaves 11-Month-Old Alone in Car on 90-Degree Day

Someone called the Saturday to report a baby left alone in a car at , according to a police report.

Turns out, the baby's father Kyle Garrett, 23, of Akron, was actually in Men's Warehouse getting fitted for a tuxedo, the report said.

Witnesses said the 11-month-old was in the car for 10 minutes, and Garrett said the same. He told police he left the air conditioning on so the baby wouldn't overheat in the 90-degree weather, the report said.

Police charged Garrett with a misdemeanor count of child endangering. He has no prior criminal record, according to Bath Township police Chief Michael McNeely.
