Macy's Bans Akron Man Accused of Shoplifting

A 35-year-old unemployed Akron man has been banned from for three years after being accused of shoplifting $844 worth of merchandise from the department store.
received a theft report at 2:31 p.m. Nov. 14 from a Macy's security agent. The agent said he watched a man hide a Polo hooded sweatshirt and a pair of Polo sweatpants, valued at $110 each, inside a bookbag.
The agent said the man left the store without paying. Police, who stopped the man in the parking lot, report that the clothing was found inside the bookbag along with $624 worth of other merchandise taken from Macy’s.

The man was arrested, charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, issued a summons and released. Macy's retrieved the merchandise.
