Longtime Bath Assistant Fire Chief Heading to North Carolina

Tim Gemind resigned to take a district chief position in Wake Forest.

Assistant Bath Fire Chief Tim Gemind is leaving Northeast Ohio and will be the district chief for the Stony Hill Rural Fire Department in Wake Forest, NC soon.

Gemind has been with the Bath department for 26 years.

“He is quick to respond to national disasters and has brought that additional knowledge back to the township,” Bath Trustee Elaina Goodrich said in this Akron Beacon Journal story. “He is the reason we have well-trained firemen ready for any disaster that strikes. That will remain his legacy in the department for many years to come.”

While Gemind is excited to move to North Carolina, he will miss this area and the department he's been apart of for more than two decades.

“I’m most proud of the people who make up our organization and that I have been able to play a role as a teacher, coach, mentor and a leader for most of those who have walked in our door for the last 26 years,” he said in the Ohio.com story
