Large Bag of Marijuana Found in Bath Traffic Stop

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

On March 16, a officer saw a Lincoln driving north on Cleveland-Massillon Road, weaving in and out of his lanes. The officer stopped the car and noticed the driver seemed nervous, a police report said.

The officer asked to search the man's car, but the man refused. When the officer checked his information in the system, it showed he had an active warrant through the Akron Police Department. The officer called Norton Police to have them bring a canine unit to search the car, and the driver was kept in the police cruiser.

The canine found a large bag of marijuana in the trunk and two metal smoking pipes. The driver was given a summons to court, cited for driving outside of the lanes and improper display of a license plate, the report said. He was released from Bath PD.
