Improper Texts; Missing Grill; Woman Gets a Ride and a Charge: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath and Fairlawn police departments

A Bath Township woman told police she exchanged phone numbers with a man she met in North Carolina two years ago.

She doesn't know his name, a report said.

In February, he asked her to send a picture of herself, so she did. But then he texted back, asking for a photo with no clothes.

He texted again on June 15, prompting the woman to go to police.

Officers advised her to block his number, and said they would try to contact the man to tell him to stop texting her.

Take the Ride

A Bath officer on patrol saw a car with one headlight pull into the Community Park about 10 p.m. June 15, and watched as the driver got out and started yelling.

He told the officer he had been in a fight in Akron, but a woman then got out of the car and said he was fighting with her.

The officer said he'd give the woman a ride home to Richfield, and all agreed. But the woman then refused to get in the police car, instead running around the vehicle and jumping back into the man's car.

She had to be removed from the vehicle and placed in the patrol car, a report said.

She was charged with obstructing official business, then driven home. The woman admitted she had been drinking, the report said.

FAIRLAWN

A Bancroft Road man reported his grill disappeared early June 13.

He said he last saw it around midnight, and it was gone at 6 a.m. It was worth $600, a report said.

Big Purses a Tipoff

Security officers saw two women, each carrying a large black purse, clear off a display shelf at Victoria's Secret at Summit Mall June 16, sweeping the items into their handbags.

When the officer approached, they ran. A witness said they jumped in to a Jeep and nearly hit a pedestrian as they drove off.

The stolen items were valued at $600.
