How Can You Tell If Your Neighbor Is Making Meth?

Bath Township resident wants to know what to look for

With methamphetamine labs getting smaller, police have warned residents to be on the lookout for them everywhere.

But what are the signs?

Ron Czerski posed the question to Bath Township officials on behalf of this mother, Emily, who lives on Orchard Drive.

Good question, said Police Chief Mike McNeely.

First, take note of strange odors -- chemical smells, he said.

Also look for odd debris put out with trash -- canisters or large amounts of cold medicine packaging.

Discolored two-liter pop bottles are another tipoff, McNeely said.

Recent news stories have said some people are making small quantities of meth in their cars.
