Four Pounds of Cocaine Seized in Bath Township

Car chase ends up in Richfield. One suspect injured.

Four Cleveland men were arrested and police seized more than 4 pounds of cocaine $47,000 in cash outside a shopping center in Bath Township.

Chief Mike McNeely said he was told the Akron drug unit would be making a "drug buy bust" at the shopping center on Medina Road in the Acme Plaza.

Akron Police recovered the cocaine and said one suspect led them on a brief car chase up Interstate 77. The fleeing man is being treated in an Akron hospital for a broken leg.

Richfield Police Lt. Tim Baker said the crash occurred when the suspect lost control while trying to run from police on the Wheatly Road exit off I-77. "He was driving at a high rate of speed, left the roadway, went over a guardrail, broke two pine trees and ended up in someone's back yard," Baker said.

Arrested on cocaine trafficking charges were Cleveland residents Wilson Dominquez, 30; Jose Rosado, 22; Giovanni Santana, 28; and Ramon Alvarado, 28.
