Former Fairlawn Chief, Wife Injured in Blaze

Don Adams and his wife Jeanette lived in Akron.

A home on Clemmer Boulevard in Akron burned down Saturday night, and according to the Summit County Auditor's website, the home belonged to a former Fairlawn police chief.

Don Adams lived with his wife Jeanette. 

According to AkronNewsNow, the home was fully involved when firefighters arrived around 8 p.m. AkronNewsNow reports the fire started at the back of the home, but the cause is still being investigated.

The Adams' were taken to a hospital for their injuries, but their condition is unknown.

Adams is a retired special agent of the FBI and was named the 2007 Humanitarian Service Award recipient by the Former Agents of the FBI Foundation, according to akron.com.

Calls to the Fairlawn Police Department and Akron Fire Department were not returned. An email to Don Adam's daughter was also not returned.
