Fairlawn Police Blotter: A Food Court Fight, Man Escapes After Attempted Football Video Theft Despite Coverage and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairlawn police department. It does not indicate a conviction

Robbery

A saleswoman from in was attacked in the food court when asked to search the purse of a suspected shoplifter.

Store employee Estelle Mallory told police she saw two woman examining jeans, then leave Buckle Sept. 17 at about 3:30 p.m. The women did not stop when asked, when something they were carrying set off the store alarm senors at the door.

Mallory followed the women into the food court and asked one to examine her purse. When the woman refused, the clerk told police she grabbed the purse and was thrown to the ground, punched and kicked.

The alleged attacker left the food court with her companion. The two women were last seen walking East in the parking lot.

A Fairlawn police officer discovered a pair of the missing jeans in the parking lot.

The store clerk contained minor injuries, including scratches to her face and a small contusion to right eye.

Police are searching for a black female, age 20-23 wearing a long gray sweater with print around the edge, black leggings, tan boots and carrying a large black purse.

Theft

Police are searching for a 20-25 year-old black male wearing a black T-shirt, jeans and a yellow bracelet on his right wrist.

The man was last seen running down West Market Street Monday (Sept. 19) at about 7:50 p.m. being chased by employees of The Exchange. According to a police report, the man told the clerk he wanted to buy a Madden 12 PS3 video game. When the clerk started to ring the sale, the man grabbed the game from the counter and ran.

Store empolyees ran after him, but lost the alleged shoplifter at . Police recovered the game in the parking lot. 

Burglary

Police are investigating a burglary at a group home owned by Viaquest Behavorial Health at 2451 Enterprise Parkway. An unknown suspect entered through a side door and took an LCD television and DVD workth $550.
