Fairlawn, Bath Firefighters Helped Fight a Chemical Fire in Copley

The man who discovered the fire was burned on his face.

A day care center was evacuated, one man was hurt and 13 fire companies responded to a chemical fire at YRC Freight Terminal Friday, Aug. 9

According to our news partners at NewsChannel 5, the 9:15 a.m. fire was allowed to burn itself out to consume the chemical - Dimethyl Ether. Spraying water on the fire would have caused it to react. Three trailers at the terminal were damaged. 

A man who initially discovered the fire was burned on his face and was taken to Akron Children's Hospital for treatment.
