Drunk Lakewood Man Found Sleeping in Running Car

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A 27-year-old drunk Lakewood man was found sleeping in his car at the intersection of Ira and Raintree roads on June 4, according to a report.

Police said Dustin Halsted was slumped over the steering wheel with his car running. Officers woke up Halsted who said he had been drinking a lot and didn't want to drive home so he went to bed in his car, the report said.

Halsted told police he got cold and turned his car on. He was found at 5:23 a.m.

Police had Halsted perform field sobriety tests, which he did not pass, the report said. In a breath test, he blew a 0.149. The legal limit is 0.08.

Police charged Halsted with physical control, which is a lesser driving under the influence charge, and released him to a friend.
