Customer's Buick Stolen from Akron VanDevere Lot

Information provided by the Fairlawn Police Department.

A customer's Buick parked in Akron's West Market VanDevere lot was stolen on March 13 and reported to by Akron police.

The car was equipped with an OnStar GPS device and was tracked to , according to police. Officers found the car and waited to see who came out.

Soon after, a 38-year-old Barberton man came out, unlocked the driver's side door, grabbed something and walked back into the mall.

Officers followed the man into the mall and when he began to run, he was caught, the police report said.

The car, valued at $23,000 was returned to the victim and police charged the man with motor vehicle theft.
