  • Fairlawn police found a little more than they bargained for after apprehendeding a suspected thief at Target on Jan. 30. After searching him, they
  • On Feb. 4, a security guard stopped a woman from stealing a pair of jeans at The Buckle in Summit Mall. The thief reportedly placed the jeans into her purse, which was lined with cardboard and duct tape. The criminal tool, otherwise known as a "booster bag," is used by shoplifters to slip past alarm systems without triggering them.
  • A small-time theft quickly turned into a felony drug arrest after a man was allegedly found with stolen merchandise, heroin and a hypodermic needle at the Fairlawn Walmart on Feb. 7.
