Bicyclist Assaults Yellow Creek Road Man For Asking About His Helmet

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

A North Royalton man is accused of assaulting a Yellow Creek Road man after he asked where the biker's helmet was, according to a report.

On May 13, the 54-year-old bicyclist, who frequently rides from Cleveland into Akron, rode past the victim's Yellow Creek Road home while the victim was cutting his grass. According to the biker, the man asked him "Where's your helmet?"

Bath police Chief Michael McNeely said the biker told the victim it was "up his rear end, so to speak," the chief said.

The biker rode away and then came back and asked the homeowner why he asked about the helmet, hit him and then rode away again, the report said.

The victim got in his car and followed the bicyclist until officers caught up with them at the water treatment plant on Akron-Peninsula Road, McNeely said.
