Bath Township Assistant Chief Will Take Over During Search for Successor

Tim Gemind also has applied for the job.

have voted to approve the promotion of Assistant Fire Chief , who will serve as acting chief until a replacement can be found for retiring Fire Chief James Paulett.

According to his resume, Gemind is a resident of Wadsworth. He began as a part-time firefighter in Copley Township in 1983, three days after his graduation from .

Gemind joined the as a fire-medic in 1987, and has held positions as training coordinator, lieutenant and became assistant chief under Paulett in 2003. He also has served as a part-time fire-medic for the city of since 1989.

Township Administrator William Snow said Gemind is also one of 30 applicants for the position.

thanked trustees on Monday for "37 great years of great service. I enjoyed it," he said. He will be honored at a council meeting March 21, Snow said.
