Bath Teen Loses Control, Drives 336 Feet Off Ira Road

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

A 19-year-old Bath resident was driving west on Ira Road on July 7 when he lost control of his car and drove off the road, according to a report.

Joshua Weinsheimer drove his BMW M3 off the south side of Ira Road, through a wooden fence and continued 336 feet before coming to a stop in the middle of a field, the report said.

Weinsheimer told police he lost control because he was driving too fast. He also admitted that he had been drinking, and Bath Township police Chief Michael McNeely said the department is still awaiting toxicology reports.

Police charged Weinsheimer with reasonable control and driving under the influence, the report said. McNeely said more charged are pending depending on the results of the toxicology report.
