Bath Resident Conned by Craigslist Scam: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

 

A West Bath Road resident trying to sell some items on craigslist.com was apparently scammed out of $866 by an unscrupulous buyer.

A report said the would-be buyer emailed the seller, asking for $866 in shipping costs and Western Union fees, which the seller sent.

But the buyer then continued to email demands for more money, saying he couldn't complete the transaction without additional cash.

Two local businesses reported finding counterfeit money in their cash drawers March 14.

Taco Bell on Medina Road and Speedway on Cleveland-Massillon Road both discovered fake $20 bills.

Police turned the bills over the the U.S. Secret Service, which investigates counterfeiting crimes.
