Bath Police Seek Man Who Tried to Abduct Woman

Suspect ordered victim to get into his van

Bath Township police are seeking a man who reportedly ordered a woman to get into his van Monday night.

Police Chief Michael McNeely said the woman, 59, was walking her dogs at the intersection of Olengangy and Haskell drives about 7:30 p.m. when a man started following her in his van.

He yelled "Get in the van," to her, a report said. When she did not comply, he pulled ahead, got out and pointed to the vehicle, again saying, "Get in the van."

The woman then turned and ran.

The vehicle was an older small panel van, dull black in color, with no side windows and older tires.

The suspect was a white man between 35 and 45. He was tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a dirty gray hoodie and dark sweatpants. His hair was dirty and disheveled and he had a light growth of facial hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Daniel A. Lance, dlance@bathtownship.org or 330-666-3736.
