Bath Police Search for Missing Man

Arthur Cole, 81, last seen Sunday on Hametown Road in Bath Township.

July 25: Bath Township has discontinued its multi-agency search of the area for a missing elderly man with memory problems.

Bath Police said this morning they are waiting for other clues to focus the search for Arthur Cole, 81, of Bath Township. Officers from Copley, Bath, Fairlawn and Granger Township searched until about 7 p.m. last night with help from the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Cole was last seen by a neighbor at about 8 a.m. Sunday in front of family home on Hametown Road.

He had living at Arden Courts of Bath, a facility for patients with memory impairments, since January. According to police, Cole has alzheimer's and was home from a treatment facility for the weekend.

Family members told police he was last seen reading in the back yard. Cole is 5'5", 170 lbs, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing red sweat pants, a white shirt, and tennis shoes. He has missing since 8 a.m. Sunday (July 24).

More than 50 safety forces officers have been searching for Cole today, as well as the Ohio Highway Patrol air and K-9 searches.
