Bath Police: Burglar Arrested Following Manhunt

Alton S. Dubrock, 54, of Butler, Pa., was arrested Monday night in Bath Township after an alleged attempted home invasion.

They got him.

Alton S. Dubrock was arrested by Bath Township police in a wooded area off the 4200 block of Big Spruce Drive at 7:45 p.m. Monday.

Police were hunting Dubrock, 54, of Butler, Pa. Police say he tried to break into an occupied home in the 3900 block of North Shore Drive at 6:32 p.m. Monday.

According to Bath Police Chief Michael McNeely, Dubrock kicked in the door of the residence, but fled once he heard a woman's screams from inside the home.

"Police officers from Bath, Fairlawn, Copley and Akron set up a containment perimeter in the Crystal Shores neighborhood," said McNeely. "A reverse alert message was sent to all residents in the neighborhood notifying them of the manhunt."

Dubrock is also a suspect in a car-jacking in Akron, said McNeely.

A vehicle was taken from the 200 block of East Market Street at 5:52 p.m. Monday. That vehicle was found in Bath on Interstate 77 near the Ghent Road exit just prior to the North Shore burglary.

Bath Police charged Dubrock with burglary. Additional charges from the Akron Police Department are pending.

Dubrock is in the Summit County Jail.

@Dan: Here's what the chief said, "Readers may visit the Bath Township website. The link to register for reverse alerts is on the main page." https://ww2.everbridge.net/citizen/EverbridgeGateway.action?body=home&gis_alias_id=720761
