Bath Launches 'Virtual Neighborhood Watch'

Police Department joins social media site to share crime news

Bath Township Police have joined a social media site designed to share community information.

Starting Oct. 1, Bath became a member of Nextdoor, a site that encourages neighbors to talk to each other about everything from crime to finding someone to clean their gutters.

"Nextdoor is a tool for us to effectively share crime prevention and safety information with Bath residents," the department said.

On a Nextdoor demo site, a man seeks to borrow a ladder, promising to repay the lender with his wife's homemade cookies. Another woman looks for recommendations for a seamstress; someone reports seeing smoke; a missing kitten is found; and a woman organizes a community garage sale.
