Alleged Shoplifter Hit with Taser as He Flees Store: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

An alleged shoplifter's encore appearance at Walmart didn't go as smoothly as the first, according to a report.

Police were called to the store about 11 p.m. Sept. 1 after employees saw a man load a cart with $506 worth of merchandise, then wheel it out of the store without paying.

When approached, the man fled on foot. A pursuing officer deployed a Taser, which stopped the suspect in his tracks.

A report said it's possible the man is the same person who pulled off a similar theft from the store the previous night, also at 11 p.m.
