Akron Man Accused of Choke Slamming Woman in Rockne's Lot

A 56-year-old Akron man is accused of grabbing a woman by the throat and throwing her down in the parking lot on May 20, according to a report.
Police say Mack Blanks followed the 52-year-old victim to the restaurant and started a fight with her in the parking lot. Several witnesses said they saw him grab her and throw her to the ground, the report said.
When police arrived, Blanks tried to leave the scene by getting in his car, however he was blocked in the back and front by police cruisers. Blanks still tried to get away and backed into one cruiser twice, the report said.

Finally, police arrested Blanks and charged him with violating a protection order and assault. He was taken to the Summit County Jail.
