A Really Bad Place for a Nap; an Unusual Injury: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

An alleged drunken driver kind of tipped off police when he fell asleep in his car in the middle of the street.

A report said Richfield police happened upon the car on Everett Road at Medina Line about 2 a.m. Sept. 2.

Police boxed in the man's car with their own, but the man wasn't going to flee — in fact, it took a lot of yelling to wake him up.

The driver, 31, had a blood alcohol content of .119 and was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.

One of Those Things

Police and rescue workers were called Sept. 1 after a Bath Township man stabbed himself.

A report said the man, 28, had been trying to puncture a soup can with a bayonet when he missed the can and stabbed his hand.

He was taken to the hospital.

Lost Purse, Found Merchandise

Employees at JoAnn Fabrics called police Sept. 2 after they looked inside a purse left in the store on Aug. 31 — and found stolen merchandise inside.

The clothing still had security tags from TJ Maxx, a report said.

Employees at TJ Maxx confirmed a woman stole items from the store Aug. 31, but they did not report it at the time.
