The following information was supplied by the Fairlawn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A manager at Dillard’s at called on Dec. 6 regarding the loss of $790 worth of merchandise paid for with nine counterfeit $100 bills – a transaction that cost the store $1,690 in cash and merchandise.
The manager said that between 4 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Dec. 5, a Dillard’s sales associate sold 10 items of fragrances and cosmetics with a combined value of $790 to a woman who paid with $900 in cash.
An inspection after the sale was completed and the customer had left the store revealed the bills were counterfeit.
