14-Year-Old Girl Threatens to 'Disembody' Mother

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

On May 18, the parents of a 14-year-old girl called police when their daughter started lashing out and making threats, according to a report.

The mother told police the girl was being violent toward the father, kicking him in the shins five times. The father told police the girl threatened to "disembody" her mother, the report said.

No one was seriously hurt.

Bath police Chief Michael McNeely said the police have been called to the Anthony Drive home several times in the past and that the girl has some mental issues.

Because of the seriousness of this incident, McNeely said the girl was arrested and taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Why wasn't the girl taken for psychological assessment/testing, before being taken to a Juvenile detention center? She needs treatment, not a holding cell. I call major fail on the parents part, and the police, as they admit they were aware of the girls mental state for some time. The fact no one did anything but turn a blind eye to help this girl before she got to this stage, is pathetic.
