$1,500 Gold Necklace Disappears from J.B. Robinson Jewelers
The following information was supplied by the Fairlawn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A $1,500 gold necklace disappeared from the store at on Dec. 8, but the crime wasn’t discovered until two days later.
A store representative called at 1:44 p.m. Dec. 11 to report that a 22-inch gold rope chain valued at $1,499 was missing. Police were told that an employee had been showing the necklace to a customer on Dec. 8.
The sales clerk said she had placed the chain on the counter for viewing, then removed several silver chains and placed them on the counter. When the customer inquired about charms, the employee put the silver chains away and escorted the customer over to the charm case

When a store inventory was done on Dec. 10, it was realized that the 22-inch gold chain was missing. The employee said she forgot to put the gold chain back into its display case when she was done showing it to the customer.
The theft of an item of that value is a fifth-degree felony.
