Medina County funds to accept grants via new online system

The Medina County Community Fund and the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation invite nonprofit leaders to attend an informational meeting Jan. 23 to learn about their new online grant application system. Meetings will be held at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in Community Room A of the Medina branch of the Medina County District Library, located at 210 S. Broadway St.

      At the informational sessions, nonprofits will learn how to submit their grant proposals online and get a sneak peek at the application questions. Fund representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about the grant-making process.   

      Both the Medina County Community Fund and the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund will accept grant proposals Jan. 24 – March 1. More information and links to the application are available at www.akroncf.org/applyMCCF and www.akroncf.org/applyMCWEF, respectively.

      Both affiliates of Akron Community Foundation, the funds make grants to nonprofit organizations serving residents of Medina County. The Medina County Community Fund supports programs that improve the lives of all Medina County residents, while the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund specifically focuses on programs that address the needs of local women and children.

      In 2013, the funds awarded a combined $36,100 to programs that enrich the lives of Medina County residents. Qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible to receive one grant per fund per calendar year.

The Medina County Community Fund, an affiliate fund of Akron Community Foundation, serves as a philanthropic endowment for Medina County. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for Medina County residents, now and in the future.
