Revere Rings in Homecoming Weekend with First Win

Revere beats Cloverleaf in the first win in two years

Revere certainly had a lot to celebrate this past weekend. Both the men's and women's soccer teams have advanced to the playoffs (UPDATE- Men have advanced, beating St. Vincent St. Mary 3-0 while the women sadly lost); the Marching Band qualified for state competition (three consecutive times, as a matter of fact), and final rehearsals for the fall play are in full swing; but for now, the football team is the center of attention. Last Friday night, the Minutemen won their first game in two years. The rare site caused the fans to storm the field as the clock hit zero, which was quite a scene itself.

Who knows why the Minutemen surged ahead at this point in the season. Perhaps it was the fact that Joey D'Amico, one of the team's star players, was crowned Homecoming King (along with Lix Papas as Queen). Maybe it was the pre-Homecoming hype. Whatever it was, Revere wrung Cloverleaf out to dry during that particularly rainy game.

Join us next week at home against Revere's rival Copley. Wear your red, white and blue as we honor the seniors in cross country, football, cheerleading, other fall sports and the senior band members. Also, be prepared for a halftime show designed by the seniors that's sure to impress. See you on Friday. Beat Copley!
