Your Guide to Fall Festivals: Apple Cider and Pumpkin Patches in Northeast Ohio

Here's a roundup of fall festivals in the area, most within an hour's drive.

Cider donuts and pumpkin picking are fall favorites. We've put together a list of where you can enjoy fall festivals in Northeast Ohio.

Cuyahoga County 

Strongsville Halloween Hullabaloo is an indoor event this year, set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. Cost is $8 for ages 3 and up; $5 for kids 1-2; and free for under 1 year.

SouthPark Mall  in Strongsville will have a Malloween Party and Scare Away Hunger Scavenger Hunt on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Westlake Fall Festival and Pumpkin Hunt is geared toward children ages 9 and under. It includes a pumpkin hunt, face painters, hay rides and inflatables. At the Recreation Center Park 28955 Hilliard Blvd, Westlake. Oct. 13 at 1 pm, parents must be present. 

Stark County

The Stark Parks Family Fall Fest takes place from 4 - 8 p.m. Oct. 20 at Petros Lake Park, 3275 Perry Drive SW, in Perry Township across from
the Timken Faircrest Plant. The event feaures the popular Creatures of the Night hike, hayrides and face-painting by professional artists. You can find out more in this North Canton Patch announcement.

The Massillon Zombie Walk takes place Saturday, Oct. 13 at Duncan Plaza (off of 1st Street) in Massillon. The night kicks off at 6 p.m. with a "Thriller" performance and ends with a showing of "Night of the Living Dead." We found more details on the Massillon Zombie Walk's Facebook page.

Summit County

Hale Farm and Village in Bath Township -- Harvest Festival Weekend, presented by Giant Eagle 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13, 14, 20 and 21. Press apple cider and apple butter. Visit the barn animals and enjoy jumping into hay piles.  $10 adults, $5 children. 

Visit the Bath Nature Preserve from 11 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 13 for fun fall activities. Live band, corn hole tournament, hay rides, face painting and much more at this Bath Township event.  

First Christian Church of Stow sells pumpkins every fall in front of the church. Sales hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 12:30 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Tim Neitz, who chairs both the church’s board of trustees and The Pumpkin Ministry, said funds raised each October go to a variety of programs – from sending parishioners to youth camps and on U.S. mission trips to funding world outreach projects.

On Saturday, Oct. 27 from 2 to 6 p.m., stop by Falls River Square in Cuyahoga Falls for the annual Community Spooktacular. The festival includes a costume contest, face painting, a pumpkin carving contest and live entertainment. Parking and admission are free.

Lake County

Corn and Pumpkin Harvest Weekend at Lake Farm Metropark, 8800 Euclid-Chardon Rd., Kirtland. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 and 14. Harvest and decorate a pumpkin, make a cornhusk doll and more. Admission varies. 

Lorain County

Lorain County Metroparks Halloween Fair at the Carlisle Reservation is set for Fridays and Saturdays in October. Family friendly hours are 5-7 p.m., scary hours are  7-10 p.m. Check out the animated skeleton and the flying vampire bat, food, games, tractor pulled wagon rides. $2 admission, children under 3 are free.
