The firefighters are cycling from Toledo to Akron, and then from Akron they will ride through Cuyahoga Falls and Stow to Kent. Once in Kent, the firefighters will rest for the night before leaving Wednesday morning for Pittsburgh.

The team is expected to leave Akron at about 3 p.m. today. They will take Main Street to State Road into Cuyahoga Falls. They will then turn east onto Graham Road, turn south on S.R. 91 and then turn east onto S.R. 59 and head through Stow to Kent. They are expected to take S.R. 59 into downtown Kent, where they will stop at Home Savings Plaza at around 4 p.m.

The riders left California July 24 with the goal of hitting New York in 45 days with stops in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C., along the way. They plan to arrive in New York City on Sept. 9 and finish the ride at the FDNY Firefighters Wall. The full route can be traced here.

Members of the public in all three communities are encouraged to line the route and cheer the group on. Police and fire escorts are expected in all three cities.
