Pollen Levels Climbing in Fairlawn and Bath

What's to blame? Experts are saying record warm temperatures and mild winters are causing more serious allergies this season.

Every year, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America identifies the most challenging places to live for allergy sufferers. Akron moved up 10 spots from last year and is the 44th most challenging place out of 100 to live if you are a seasonal allergy sufferer. (Cleveland is No. 47 on the list.)

"Right now we're forecasting a robust tree and grass season which will carry all the way into early to mid-summer,"  allergist Dr. Cliff Bassett, fellow with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, said in a Weather.com post. "Allergy season is going to be 25-30 days longer in the fall as well."
