Letter From the Editor -- Introducing Moms' Day

New content focuses on family life.

Weird but true, Fairlawn-Bath Patch is less than two months old!

There is no way we can thank you for the support you have shown so far, except to dream up new programming that will give you even more to look forward to when you stop by throughout the day.

So, in addition to breaking news and features, starting this week, Wednesday content will be devoted to families.

Columnist Jennie Narraway will continue to share her funny, poignant and sometimes painful-parenting experiences in the popular Momfiles.

Our new offerings are columns, lists and features aimed at making family life a little easier and more fun.

We know you love a good deal. We’ll give you the lowdown on nearby discounts that will save you time and money.

What to do with those kiddos? No problem. We’ve got a calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out that will keep your toddlers, tweens and teens occupied -- and you can take all the credit.

Patch is in search of great kids to honor. Each week we’ll profile an individual or a group that has made a difference as Patch Whiz Kid(s) of the Week. Know an Eagle Scout, a soccer star, a mathlete or volunteer who just rocked your world? Tell us and we'll tell the world -- or at least Western Summit County. Our first Whiz Kid is Copley High School Eagle Scout and athlete .  Send your nominations to kymberli.hagelberg@patch.com.

Moms Talk

Each week our resident mom will examine the latest hot parenting topic, and with the help of our Moms' Council of local parents (dads too!), offer wisdom, share advice and solutions.

All work and no play makes for a frazzled mom, so each week the Great Escape will offer suggestions for me-time. Think no kids allowed -- for a little while anyway. Each column will contain one great idea for a night out with the girls on your own, or maybe an ideal date night. Every suggestion will be near enough to your nest so you can make a quick dash home in a snap, if necessary.

So check us out and let us know what you think. Leave your comments after the stories, and as always, I also look forward to your suggestions by email. Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for additional information and up-to-the-minute updates.
