Reservations for Bath Township's main event close Friday.

The Bath Lobster Boil will be held Sept. 24 at the Bath Nature Preserve. Tickets are $38 for lobster, $15 for garlic chicken. According to event volunteer, Gail Lindus, you must get your reservation by Friday (Sept. 16) or miss out.

This annual gathering is really a fundraiser for the township's other main event, .

The annual community day festival draws hundreds of current and former residents to Bath for a parade down Cleveland-Massillon Road, a pancake breakfast and an all-day party full of music, amusements, silly contests like the funky planter competition and booths that highlight local businesses.

The event gives folks in Bath Township a chance to meet and greet each other, and show off their rural oasis to newcomers. Ask virtually anyone in Bath Township about their community, and you'll find residents are darn proud.

"Everything's better here," said Lindus, "we're all just proud of our community and feel blessed to be here. Bath Community Day is a way to celebrate that."

Community Day is put on by volunteers and is produced totally with donated money -- mostly cash raised at the Lobster Boil, Lindus said. Call 330-864-0805 to get your ticket or visit the community day web site.
