Macaroni Grill to Open in Fall

Renovations have begun at popular Montrose restaurant.

Demolition is progressing in the interior of the Romano's Macaroni Grill that was damaged by fire in November.

A representative of the company's corporate office said the Montrose restaurant is scheduled to open in early October.

The Copley Towship Fire Department responded to an alarm at the restaurant Nov. 14. According to Fire Chief Michael Benson, the blaze started above the oven and spread throughout the restaurant through the roof and ceiling. A sprinkler system kept the fire from spreading to main floor of the restaurant.

Damage was estimated at $1.5 million to the restaurant, which is valued at nearly $2 million according to their Summit County tax records.
