Former Firestone Country Club Chef Shows Sweet Tooth with Pandora's Cupcake Shop

Ken Carr has spent the past 20 years in the food industry.  He’s worked at Firestone Country Club where he ultimately was a sous chef for Hacker’s Bar and Grill and managed a GFS Marketplace store.  Now he hopes to get back to his days as a chef while providing the customer care he learned at GFS.  Ken and his wife, Rebekah decided to open Pandora's Cupcakes, a business serving delicious cupcakes that would be available whenever customers wanted them.

Carr says “Most cupcake stores stay open only until the day’s product is gone, that could be by 1pm, whereas we believe that being customer focused means having cupcakes until the store closes at the posted time.”

Carr opened Pandora’s Cupcakes as a way to be his own boss. A typical day offers 12-17 different cupcake flavors that are freshly baked.  The menu changes daily, rotating some 60 different cupcake flavors including PB&J, Lemon, S'mores and French Toast. Customers can order any of the flavors for pick up. Pandora's can bake one dozen or 10 dozen and have them ready when the customer needs them. Carr is currently working on a vegan frosting to go with what he describes as “an awesome vegan cake recipe.”

Carr said he is "partnering with to come up with the perfect vegan frosting.”
