Fairlawn Fire Department Reflects on 9/11 with Local Company

Employees, firefighters have ceremony on 12th anniversary of terrorist attacks

The Akron office of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs gathered outside around the flagpole at 9 a.m. Tuesday in remembrance of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony began at 9 a.m. with the fire crew from the Fairlawn Fire Department leadingthe office in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Fire Fighter Steve Heckman of the Fairlawn Fire Department gave a 9/11 Memorial speech that began, “I know that for all of us here today, and in fact for all Americans, September 11, 2001 forever changed our world."
