Earth Fare Opens Today

Fairlawn mayor officially cut the ribbon on company's first store above the Mason-Dixon Line.

Months ago Fairlawn Mayor William Roth lamented the departure of Walmart in his state-of-the-city address, but added that for the first time in a long while that businesses were calling him to come to the city.

Call it retail karma, a day after the Ohio EPA gave Walmart its ticket to officially leave the city for Copley Township, one of Roth's callers, Earth Fare, opened a new grocery store right across the street.

Patch took a sneak peek of the natural foods store yesterday while last-minute preparations were made.

Maria DiLalla, director of team member relations, said visitors to the grand opening will receive welcoming gifts, coupons and a chance to win prizes in a store raffle.

Earth Fare stores in Cleveland and Columbus will open later this year.
