What to Do this Weekend in Fairlawn and Bath

A community festival, golf tournament, a garage sale, Lebanese food and more.

The National Weather Service is warning of rain and thunderstorms, but that's no reason you can't get out there and enjoy the weekend. The following events are either held indoors or scheduled to go on rain or shine.

No plans? No worries. Here are a few ideas.

Friday

 -- begins at 8:30 a.m. today (Aug. 5) at Raintree Country Club 4350 Mayfair Rd., Uniontown. The event is in memory of the father of a Revere Middle School Teacher and benefits March on Melanoma. More details here.

Copley-Fairlawn City Schools Community Night at Canal Park -- Gates open at 6p.m., game starts at 7p.m. Students are recognized on field. Proceeds support the Copley Music Boosters, Copley Sports Boosters, and CHSPTA. Tickets $10.

Saturday

 -- A pancake breakfast, a parade and massive community get-together are part of this annual community fair. Most events are at . Check out the full flier of events here.

Kelly Miller Circus, -- The Kelly Miller Circus comes to the grounds of Richfield Town Hall, 4410 W. Streetsboro Road. Ninety minute shows are scheduled for 2, 5 and 7:30 p.m. Day-of-Show tickets are $7 for children and $15 for others.

Fairlawn Household Hazardous Waste Day -- Fairlawn residents who are making this weekend a working one can rop off household chemicals at the city service department between 9 a.m. and noon. Accepted items include: oil and latex paint, solents, miscellaneous flammable materials, pesticides (liquid or solid), aerosols, oil, computers, monitors, televisions, and household batteries (alkaline, nickel cadmium, mercury. All containers should be five gallons or less.

Copley High School  Extreme Garage Sale -- Hunt for bargains in the high gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit the CHS Parent/Teacher/Student Association.

Our Lady of the Cedars’ annual Lebanese Food Fair -- Parishioners make food from scratch: grape leaves, spinach and meat pies and baklava to absolutely die for. The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, 507 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road. Admission is free. Food is purchased with tickets, sold at the door (cash only). Eat in or take out. A party with Lebanese music and dancing follows the food fair from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
