Summer Solstice Concert Returns Thanks to Anonymous Donor

Hear two bands June 21 at Bath Community Activity Center

A Summer Solstice Concert in Bath Parks has been set for 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 21 at the Bath Community Activity Center.

It's the first time in three years there will be a Summer Solstice Concert, and it's due to a donation from a resident, who wants to remain anonymous.

"He (the donor) said he thought it was a good event, and why didn't we do it again," said Mike Rorar, Parks Director.

So he gave the township $1,200 to cover the cost of the two bands -- Tony Fortunato and the Travis Haddix Blues Band.

Rorar said the Parks Board had been debating whether to revive the concert this year.

"Then the donor came up and made it simple," he said.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Rorar said the same resident has made donations to the parks in the past, also asking that the township not reveal his name.
