• PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Where/When: , 3101 Smith Rd., Fairlawn; Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
Why Go: Children ages 3 to 5 years old can join the library staff for stories, songs, rhymes and crafts.

Where/When: Hale Farm & Village, 2686 Oak Hill Rd., Peninsula; Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Students explore the social, political and economic impact of slavery as they follow the path of a fugitive slave running north to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Evening programs are open to the public and are best suited for students in grades 7 and up.

• SCIENCE ADVENTURE CLUB
Where/When: Akron Fossils & Science Center, 2080 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Copley; Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: This club meets every other week and features hands-on activities. Students take part in the center's Vier's Ditch Research project led by Cindy Julius. The project takes place outdoors near the creek; please dress appropriately.

• SHOW & TELL ME A STORY
Where/When: F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Vistors Center, 1828 Smith Rd., Akron; Friday at 10:30 a.m.
