5 Things to Know about the November Elections in Fairlawn and Bath

Here's what will be on the ballot

With the deadline to file for city, township and school races last week, here's how things stack up locally:

1.
In Fairlawn, there's no opposition. Only one person filed for each open spot:

Finance Director — Mark H. Ludwig, to fill an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2015 created by the death of Jerry Apple.

Ward 1 City Council — Rick E. Herbert. Incumbent James Butler is not seeking re-election.
Ward 3 — Incumbent Bryan Nace
Ward 5 — Incumbent Susan Sullivan
Ward 6 — Kathleen Baum has filed to fill the rest of the term she just resigned from.

2. There will be a race in Bath Township for trustee. Three candidates have filed to run for two open seats: Incumbents Becky Corbett and Jim Nelson, and challenger Darrin Kent.

3. It'll be a quiet race in the Revere Schools. George Seifert and Claudia Hower, who were both elected to the School Board in 2009, were the only two to file for election.

4. Four candidates have filed for three open seats on the Copley-Fairlawn Board of Education. They are Romi Brozeit and incumbents Sue Emich, Richard Levin and Jessica Vargo.

5. Summit County voters will decide two tax levies, both renewals — one for the Summit Metro Parks and the other for the county's alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services.
