3d printing revolutionizes hearing aid & Astec Webinar

Once again I would like to explore the far reaching expansion of 3d printing into medical fields as well as the long awaited report on the webinar for 3d systems. The medical field that I investigated this week was hearing aids which could leak over commercially to head phones. Beats by Dre may soon lose it's iconic headband look and move to inner ear.

The Astec webinar took place 2 weeks ago and now is available for replay. They mainly produce hot mix asphalt equipment and use the 3-d printer for multi-jet 3d printing. It allows for iterative design and high heat environment testing. This shows that additive manufacturing could definitely handle extreme industrial temperatures. Michael Swanson gave the presentation and is a manager. He was a good speaker, direct, without too much jargon.

Which industry will additive manufacturing impact most powerfully? I was hoping the webinar would provide more insight, however I remain curious as to which way this movement will travel next.
