3-d printing a residence

The leap in ideas may sound outlandish to some that 3-d figurines as they are seen now could move from figurines to models to rooms and even houses. The two articles that I read today were actually commenting on these two distinct possiblities. The first was on a printing one room where the ceilings which are usually painstakingly created by hand on instead handled by a 3-d model and printing. Wallpaper that is usually chosen with it's individual patterns would once again be produced by the printer. The design used was atypical but also produced good results.

The second article gave the task of printing an entire house. This method left something to be desired as the custom home would take up to 2 and a half years to print. However, if one of your favorite designers made the model would it be worth it?
