An Olmsted Falls woman drove her aunt's car to Summit Mall on on Dec. 12, and came out to find her driver's side rear window cracked, according to a Fairlawn police report.
When the woman went out at 3:45 p.m., her car was fine, but when she came back out at 10:30 p.m., she saw someone shot the window using either a BB or pellet gun, the report stated.
The window was spidered in several places, but it had not busted out. Someone also spit on the woman's window, the report stated.
There are no suspects, and police are investigating. The window is valued at $100.

I am still amazed that Summit Mall has no camera surveillance - not in the parking lot, the food court, nor the concourse areas. Fairlawn Police do an amazing job, but the much needed security feature missing from Summit Mall undoubtedly makes their jobs more difficult. I understand "cost effectiveness", but it's a slap in the face to all consumers who take their business to Summit Mall by not offering what is clearly necessary security.
